Aston Villa were sent crashing out of the FA Cup on Saturday as Swansea City put three goals past Lovre Kalinic at Villa Park.
The Villains will need to improve massively if they are to stand any chance of securing a play-off spot in the current campaign, with consistency being a real issue at this moment in time.
Although, it looks as if Dean Smith is eyeing a possible swoop, as according to The Sunday Mirror (page 67; 06/01) (via HITC), Aston Villa are interested in signing Kiril Despodov.
Aston Villa are thought to be interest in bringing Kiril Despodov to Villa Park, but they may struggle to do so as the likes of Cardiff City and Middlesbrough are also interested.
And, it’s understood that the Bulgaria international is rated at £5 million.
Despodov has been prolific this season, netting 10 goals, along with producing 11 assists.
Aston Villa look like waving goodbye to Tammy Abraham, so bringing in someone like Despodov would provide them with another goal threat and an attacker that has a bright future ahead of him.
Indeed, the Villains will be desperate to secure the services of the Bulgarian, but Cardiff City and Middlesbrough’s presence could cause a number of problems.
