Aston Villa’s return to the Premier League hasn’t been as seamless as they would’ve liked, as they sit just one place above the relegation zone.
Their latest defeat, a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Leicester, left them looking over their shoulders; they’re only above the bottom three on goal difference.
Should Aston Villa go all out for Pedro in January?
While they’ve scored more goals than any other side outside of the top seven (23), they’ve also conceded 28, keeping just three clean sheets in 16 games.
Captain Jack Grealish has been a bright spark in attack, scoring six and assisting five in all competitions this season, including a wonder strike away at Manchester United.
Unsurprisingly, this form has led to calls for him to be included in the England squad, where he faces stiff competition from the likes of James Maddison, Mason Mount and Dele Alli in a similar position.
However, footage involving Grealish that emerged from the Leicester game didn’t go down well with fans of other clubs, as he was spotted going down rather theatrically several times in the space of a few seconds.
Here’s how some of them reacted to it:
Exactly the reason hes not in the england squad. Maddison and mount far better

That is unbelievably embarrassing. The desperation to cheat is astounding. A Smith side all over.

Why is he not carded for either barging into the player when he gets up or for diving in the area? A commentator said the other week he runs at players and that’s why he gets fouled and goes down! I beg to differ.

It’s why he can’t play for England. He’d be off in 10 mins for simulation, whinging and/or little cynical fouls.
Shame as he’s clearly a talented footballer.
Cut it out & he could go far.

Has a dive up & roll around. Has a cheap shot at another guy. Has a dive up and roll around, claiming a penalty all in the space of 20 seconds. Embarrassing. Only thing Premier league about him is his ability to dive.
