Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed with the harmony Steve Bruce has brought to their side but, according to The Telegraph, it’s not all been plain sailing.
The Villans had looked to be set to continue their free-fall earlier this season under Roberto Di Matteo with them out of form and plummeting towards the relegation zone.
Things, however, have taken a welcome turn for our local Villa punters and Steve Bruce is getting a much better tune out of the current crop of players.
That is except for one, the report suggests, with Ross McCormack being made to train with the U23 side for missing training more than once with the senior side.
McCormack signed from Fulham in the summer in a signing that looked to be a good idea for the Villans but he has sorely underwhelmed and now the club are keen, apparently, to get rid of him as soon as possible.
Whether they can or not remains to be seen whilst our landlord can’t believe a player of his calibre has fallen off the wagon so dramatically this season.
