Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping their side has enough about them to continue to challenge their rivals for an automatic promotion spot to the Premier League next season.
The Villans currently find themselves sitting in the playoffs and Steve Bruce’s side has worked hard to be as high as they are following a disappointing start to the campaign. The club, who already have a number of experienced top-flight players, will be looking to add to their squad in the summer, with a number of names already being linked with a possible move.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Villa manager could be considering a move to reunite with Jake Livermore should the Villa Park outfit secure promotion. The midfielder is expected to be one of a number of departures from the Baggies as they face relegation and could even travel to the World Cup with the Three Lions.
The pair were together during their time at Hull City and Villa locals are hoping their relationship will help bring the England international to the Villans this summer, however, they will face some tough competition to bring him in. In order to complete a move though, Bruce will have to ensure promotion.
Locals in the Tavern will be eager to see their side win promotion back to the Premier League and will then be interested to see what names they can attract to help them try and survive in their first season back. Punters will also be hoping that the former relationship between Bruce and Livermore can also help to convince the midfielder to join them.
Despite a dreadful campaign with the Baggies, he’d prove a solid enough addition at Villa Park.
