Aston Villa must complete these 2 transfer deals before the end of June

Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern will be desperate for promotion in the next campaign after failing to beat Fulham in this season’s Championship play-off final.

The Villains will have their eyes set firmly on securing promotion in the next campaign after failing to make the most of a promising position in the Championship play-offs.

Although, Steve Bruce will be looking to bring in a number of players this summer to help prepare for the challenges of next season, with many of our local residents expecting nothing less than promotion.

So, Villa will need to bring in a central defender as John Terry has decided not to stay on at Villa Park, while the Midlands club will also need to bring in an attacking midfielder, with Jack Grealish being linked with a move away.

With that in mind, Aston Villa must complete these TWO transfer deals before the end of June…

Nick Powell

The former Manchester United midfielder played a huge part in Wigan’s promotion to the Championship this season, as he bagged himself 15 goals and provided eight assists for his teammates.

More importantly, the attacking midfielder would slot right into the Villa team as a creative spark in the final third, who has already proven that he can score bags of goals at crucial times.

At 24 years of age, the Englishman still has plenty of time to progress with a large part of his career still ahead of him. So, the Villains may be able to ensure promotion next season with him in their ranks, however, Wigan may not want to let him go as they will be playing their football in the Championship.

Gary Cahill

The Villains may be looking to bring another experienced defender on board next season after witnessing John Terry’s brilliance this season, with his former Chelsea teammate Gary Cahill possibly seeking a drop down to the Championship.

Indeed, the central defender failed to assert his dominance this season as Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta kept him out of the starting lineup.

Therefore, with experience proving crucial over the course of a Championship campaign, Villa shouldn’t hesitate to bring Cahill to Villa Park this summer.
