Aston Villa were completely distraught after losing with the last kick of the game to Leeds, a result that leaves them with work to do in January.
In 11thplace, Dean Smith already knows the challenge he faces with Aston Villa, despite their strong starting line-up.
The Championship is all about squad depth and that is something Villa have little of, largely due to injuries that have occurred this season.
That issue must be quickly rectified should Villa have any aspirations of reaching the Premier League next season and the best way to do that would be signing Reading’s Liam Moore in the January transfer window.
Moore, (who is valued at £6.3 million on Transfermarkt) is extremely highly-rated by all those at Reading and would surely make a great signing for Aston Villa, given his Championship experience.
With 19 appearances in all competitions right now, Liam Moore has become better and better with every game.
Having left Leicester in 2016 to pursue an opportunity to play more regularly, he has done that and now seems ready to move to a bigger and better team.
With Reading suffering low in the table, Aston Villa will surely have more to offer Liam Moore, seeing as they have a chance at promotion this season.
At 25-years-old, Liam Moore could feel ready to make the move away from Reading in search of a more exciting move.
Aston Villa are severely lacking quality at the back, as well as depth. The need for a player like Liam Moore is massive if they’re serious about wanting to move up the table under new boss Dean Smith.
