Aston Villa are delighted to have seen Dean Smith turn their fortunes around, as they edge closer to the play-off places.
Having expected a lot at the start of the season, fans were bitterly disappointed to see their season start so badly. Now though, things are on the up with Dean Smith in charge and they have a great chance at making a surge towards the promotion places.
With the quality they have on the pitch, it’s hard to believe how exactly Villa were nearer to the relegation zone than to the top of the table but all that has been quickly amended.
Despite what was an awful start, there was still a lot to be happy about at Aston Villa, with some of their summer transfers showing exactly what they’re capable of.
The success of John McGinn hasn’t gone unnoticed since the Scotsman arrived at Villa Park and recruiting players from Scotland may be a tactic that Aston Villa try again.
With that in mind, Villa should be considering making a bid to sign Hibernian’s Ryan Porteous, a defender with a very bright future ahead of him.
Porteous, who is valued at £180,000 on Transfermarkt, is a youngster in the form of his life at the moment, which could lead Villa into making a move for the 19-year-old.
Having made 15 appearances for the Scottish side this season, Ryan Porteous has shown exactly what he can do when given the opportunity.
He only made the jump up to the first team over the summer but already, Aston Villa would have seen the drive and hunger he has to be a top draw player.
With the need for a defender as well, this move is surely perfect for all involved.
