Aston Villa have been enduring a terrible run of form and it doesn’t seem to be getting better, even with new boss Dean Smith at the helm.
The excitement of recruiting a manager with the quality that Dean Smith has quickly faded as Villa continue to slip down the Championship.
Such has been their poor form, it no longer seems viable that a place in the top flight next season is made for them, despite having a strong squad on paper.
They can’t just give up in November though, work must be done in January for hope to be restored around Villa Park.
Signing a talented defender seems to be of the utmost importance right now and specifically someone of the quality that Tottenham’s Juan Foyth possesses.
Foyth, who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt, is an assured defender for someone the age of 20.
His display against West Ham most recently, had it all. The Argentine bossed the backline, which even prompted calls from Tottenham fans for Foyth to be in contention more often.
It’s his turn of pace, no fear to fly into tackles and his progression even in the last year that would stand out to Aston Villa and hence could make him their number one priority in just two months time.
As a squad that looks depleted, particularly in defence, Villa would do well to secure the services of Juan Foyth, considering the immense potential he has.
It wouldn’t at all be surprising to see Foyth completely revamp the Villa defence and turn them into one that is much harder to break down, such is his quality.
