Steve Bruce is keen to bring one of his former players back to Villa Park this summer, however, it is understood some are not so keen on the deal.
It is understood that new owners prefer to sign younger targets, following a recent policy that saw a number of experienced players arrive in the Midlands to help the side challenge for promotion.
However, the duo could change their mind as Terry remains as a free agent and Bruce appears to have a need for centre-backs.
Tommy Elphick recently left the club on loan, leaving just James Chester as his most senior defender and that could convince Sawiris and Edens to make a move to bring the 37-year-old back to Villa Park.
There is no doubt that Terry could still do a job in the Championship, despite his ageing years.
However, it appears that Bruce would have a huge task on his hands in trying to bring the former Chelsea man back to the club, with convincing Aston Villa’s new owners the hardest task of all.
It remains to be seen if an agreement can be struck between the manager and the board, but he would certainly help to improve their defence once again, especially after they failed to land their targets this summer.
