Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been talking about Aston Villa and believes that four players will leave the club if they get relegated.
With Villa currently sitting 19th in the Premier League with only ten games to go, via BBC Sport, their chances of survival are still touch and go, but they are only two points from safety, so the team could easily stay in the division if they can find some positive performances.
However, when asked by Football Insider whether any players would leave if they do not survive the drop, Robinson said: “Without a doubt. They will be in danger of getting asset-stripped if they go down.
“Grealish, Mings, Heaton and, McGinn. They have a lot of quality and if they do go down they will lose good players.”
It is hard to disagree with Robinson here, offensively, per WhoScored, Jack Grealish and John McGinn rank as the top two players when it comes to shots, key passes, and dribbles per game.
Whilst defensively, Tyrone Mings’ performances have been rewarded by the centre-back being called up to the England squad this season, and fellow Englishman Tom Heaton is a hugely experienced Premier League shot stopper who has made 68 saves, kept four clean sheets and making no errors leading to goals this season, via Premier League.
Without these four, the team would almost certainly have been much worse off, and it will be interesting to see what happens to them if Aston Villa do go down.
