Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure promotion in the current campaign, with only three games remaining from here on in.
The Villains managed to extend their unbeaten streak to two games with a win over Leeds United last time out, as they’ll be looking to gain some momentum ahead of a crucial run of fixtures. And, the Midlands club received a huge boost in their quest for promotion recently, as according to Sky Sports’ pre-match team news ahead of Villa’s trip to Portman Road, John Terry has returned to training following an ankle injury.
Of course, John Terry was always going to be one of the standout performers in the Championship after enjoying a successful time of things at Chelsea, with Villa’s promotion hopes being dependent on whether the veteran can stay fit from here on in until the end of the season.
Encouragingly, the Englishman has returned to training following an ankle problem, as Bruce will be desperate to welcome him back into the side before the start of the play-offs.
Indeed, losing Terry to injury may just cost them an automatic promotion place after struggling defensively at times, with the versatile Mile Jedinak having to fill in as a central defender in their last two outings.
Aston Villa will be delighted that one of their most senior first-team members has returned to training, as he will have a huge part to play in their quest for promotion from here on in. Of course, with promotion to the Premier League at stake, there’s no better man than John Terry to use all his experience to take them to the top-flight.
