Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping their side can continue their winning charge towards an automatic promotion spot, in the hopes that their rivals slip up during the run in.
Steve Bruce’s side currently sits fourth, seven points behind Cardiff City in second with six games to go and the locals know it will be a big ask for it to happen. The Villans will have a tough trip to Norwich City on Saturday lunchtime and many will be wanting their side to take the three points and keep the pressure on.
Villa is expected to strengthen their side in the summer, regardless of whether they win promotion to the Premier League, and they have reportedly identified a Championship midfielder to help them. According to reports made by The World Game, the Villa Park outfit is chasing Queens Park Rangers’ Massimo Luongo.
The Australia international has been in fine form in front of goal, netting four times in his last six Championship starts, which has attracted interest from Malaga and Crystal Palace, however, Bruce is keen to make the 25-year-old his.
The Villa locals in the Tavern will be edging their side on to try and win promotion from the Championship and will be excited by what Luongo can offer in the middle of the park. The Villans currently have the likes of Mile Jedinak, who is pushing on with age, although he could help to mentor his fellow countryman should they both be at the club next season.
