It continues to be a frustrating season for the Aston Villa fans within the Transfer Tavern, who’ve watched their side at least steadily improve under the stewardship of Steve Bruce in recent months.
After a dismal few years at Villa Park, the recent drama surrounding striker Ross McCormack only added to the embarrassment for our second city drinkers, with the Scotland international’s name lamented amongst those propping up the bar.
So, reports from the Daily Mirror have surprised the Villa fans somewhat. They’ve revealed top brass in the Midlands are keen on recouping the £12m they shelled out for the 30-year-old should he leave the club only six months or so after joining.
While the former Leeds United ace does have disciplinary problems, there’s little doubt he knows where the goal is at Championship level and has been linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers. Still, this report claims Villa are struggling to find a buyer for the striker at their reported asking price.
For our Villa fans in the bar, they hope it’s wrapped up sooner rather than later.
