Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern are glad to see their team back on track after recent performances suggested that promotion to the Premier League would be unlikely.
With their future still in the balance, it seems the Villans will have to try their luck in the play-offs if they stand a chance of reaching the top flight once again. That normally see’s the team with the best form prospering in the end and at the moment, teams around Villa are performing a lot better.
Whether Aston Villa get to the Premier League or stay in the Championship, their team needs improving. Too often the team have been inconsistent and this isn’t helpful if they’re are seriously hoping to return to the top division. A player who would help in either league is Southampton’s Charlie Austin, a strong, powerful striker valued at £10.80 million on Transfermarkt.
Although Austin has again struggled with injury problems this season, he has still managed to score 6 goals in 18 appearances so far. Right now, Southampton are desperate for Charlie Austin to hit the ground running after injury so that he can help steer the Saints away from relegation. They know that the 28-year-old has the goalscoring prowess to score any type of goal, something of which Southampton are calling out for right now.
Aston Villa have been blessed with a number of goalscorers but Charlie Austin has been a brilliant forward for years and he would make a great signing for Steve Bruce’s side. He has experience of scoring and playing in both the Premier League and Championship which would make the Englishman a desirable player whatever happens to Aston Villa at the end of the season.
