Aston Villa appear to be preparing for the worst this summer should they not be able to gain promotion at the end of the season.
According to The Sun, The Villans are fearing Jack Grealish could leave and will look to replace him with Joe Lolley.
The Nottingham Forest winger has starred for The Tricky Trees in the Championship this season and has seven goals and seven assists in his 30 appearances so far.
Villa are believed to be prepared to pay around £12million to secure him – should they lose Grealish.
The midfielder had been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park in the summer, although he has since signed a new deal with The Villans.
However, Dean Smith’s side still believe he could attract offers in the next transfer window and are preparing themselves.
Lolley has been excellent for Nottingham Forest this season and would be a brilliant addition for Aston Villa.
The winger has had a starring role for The City Ground outfit and his ability would certainly be welcomed at Villa Park if they are unable to win promotion to the Premier League.
However, that a deal all depends on whether Grealish moves on in the summer, so it will surely be a case of ‘lets wait and see’ for Smith’s side.
