Aston Villa’s chances of promotion could take a real boost on Good Friday when they travel to struggling outfit Bolton Wanderers. Dean Smith’s side have been in sensational form recently and will be looking to make it nine Championship wins on the bounce.
And, to make things even better for the Villans, they will have been handed some great news ahead of kickoff in regards to the availability of some of their stars.
What’s the News?
According to a match preview by Sky Sports, both Tammy Abraham and Jack Grealish are available for selection after worrying concerns.
The Chelsea loanee had to come off in the win against Bristol City with a tight hamstring, whilst their star midfielder was absent for that game through illness, however, both have managed to fully recover in time for their trip to the University of Bolton Stadium.
Kortney Hause remains out with a hip injury, although he is expected to return to training next week, whilst Jonathan Kodjia (rib) is a doubt.
With their opponents currently going through plenty off the field and struggling to beat the drop to League One, Villa have the perfect opportunity to extend their own points tally.
Another three points on Good Friday will further solidify Aston Villa’s place in the play-offs and continue Smith’s remarkable run. Just a few months ago, competing for a place in the Premier League next season did not appear to be on the cards as things had certainly not been going their way on the field.
However, the likes of Abraham and Grealish have managed to give them a fighting chance with their contributions and it will be particularly great news that the pair are available for the trip to Bolton.
Abraham has been lethal in front of goal and has been important in their quest for promotion, whilst Grealish has continued to kick on despite having to spend a large part of the campaign on the sidelines due to injuries.
The Villa fan has been largely influential with his performances on the pitch and his performances have truly inspired his team-mates and everyone at Villa Park, and having both men back in the team will only benefit Smith and the Villans immensely.
Aston Villa fans, how good is it to have both Abraham and Grealish available for the trip to Bolton? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
