Aston Villa have hit the right form at the right time. Six straight wins in a row in the Championship has seen Dean Smith’s side propel into the play-off spots and they will have the perfect opportunity to make it a magnificent seven on Wednesday when they head to Rotherham.
Another three points would help them build a five-point gap between themselves and Middlesbrough and with just five more games left to be played. However, Smith’s side will head into the game with some rather concerning news.
What’s the News?
According to a match preview by Sky Sports, Kortney Hause is a doubt for the trip to the New York Stadium on Wednesday because of a hip problem.
The in-form defender was forced to withdraw early from the match against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and he will need to be monitored ahead of the fixture.
Hause has been excellent for Aston Villa since joining the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan in the January transfer window. The news that he is a doubt will be rather concerning for Smith and the club as they look to make it seven wins in a row.
The 23-year-old has helped to tighten the defence in recent weeks and has made a real impression with his performances at Villa Park, playing a crucial role in helping the club fight for what looked like an unlikely play-off berth at one point in the season.
Hause has formed a formidable partnership with Tyrone Mings at the back and has made the position his own in the absences of Axel Tuanzebe and James Chester in recent months.
He has quickly made himself a favourite with those in the stands at Villa Park, however, he may only have a few more appearances left at the club as Wolves will have surely taken note about how well he has been doing.
Aston Villa fans, how concerning is it that Hause is a doubt for the game against Rotherham? Do you think you can make it seven wins in a row without him in the team? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
