Aston Villa will head to Ashton Gate on Friday night as they look to turn things around when they meet Bristol City.
Steve Bruce’s side were on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend and has seen the Villans drop into the bottom half of the Championship.
The pressure looks to be mounting on the manager to get the right results, and three wins in their first nine matches of the season has not gone down well with the Villa Park faithful.
The Midlands outfit have had their injury concerns over the course of the campaign and it appears that they will continue ahead of Friday night’s trip to the west country.
The pair have made a recent return to training with the first-team form groin injuries, however, it is understood that the match with the Robins has come far too early for the duo.
When asked about Hogan, he said: “He’s got a few more training sessions under his belt.
“He’s been out a long, long time. He’s there or thereabouts. I would think maybe another week or so and then he’ll come into the equation.”
Bruce also revealed the same could be said about Davies, although suggested it would be another few weeks at least before he makes a return to action.
Aston Villa will need to start getting positive results and a win against Bristol City could look to ease the pressure from Bruce.
However, the match against the Robins will be difficult as they find themselves a point ahead of the Villans and have been performing well in the Championship this season.
The absences of Hogan and Daivs will be a blow to the Villa Park outfit, however, they do not have any other concerns and will be looking to get their fourth victory of the campaign.
