Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for another win against Reading today as they look to continue their strong finish to the season.
The Villans have left it too late to get into the play-offs now but there is a growing belief that they will be one of the main players in terms of the promotion race next season.
The challenge for that, though, starts here with good form whilst a good summer window is also going to be key to add to that momentum.
Players coming in should be expected, then, but it appears there could be a pair of outgoings once the window opens, too.
Indeed, according to The Birmingham Mail Jordan Veretout and Carles Gil will seek permanent moves away from the Midlands club when the window opens – with them currently out on loan anyway.
Certainly, then, their potential departures shouldn’t impact Steve Bruce’s plans for next season and it should free up some space and financial resources to bring in players who are a part of what he wants to do.
