Tyrone Mings has been a revelation at Aston Villa this season. They’ve finally found someone to give them defensive stability, and making his move permanent in the summer would be one of their best signings in years.

The Bournemouth loanee has played 15 times since he was brought in in January. Villa have gone on to become the in-form team in the Championship since then and he deserves as much credit as Jack Grealish for their promotion fight.

He’s been one of the best centre-backs in the Championship and it’s clear he could excel in the Premier League in future. Whether Villa go up or not, they need to put their all into making him theirs ahead of next season. It could be vital for their future.

Villa lacked defensive organisation since John Terry retired to the touchline and Mings has come in and replaced him like he’s had the experience the Chelsea legend has. They can’t get to the Premier League or stay up without someone like that.

Football Insider believe Villa will table a move for the 26-year-old this summer and they should do all they can to make sure he’s leading their back line again next term. Villa have high ambitions, and so they should, so it’s time they backed that up in the transfer market.

Of course, it’s important to notice how successful the Villans have been going forward in the last few months, by Mings (rated at £3.15m by Transfermarkt) has facilitated that through his command of the defence. They need to sign him for this club to continue its return to the top.
