Aston Villa: Tyrone Mings receives season evaluation from fans

Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has been given a damning evaluation by fans over his performances this term.
After gaining promotion to the Premier League last season, Villa are now attempting to keep themselves in England’s top flight, sitting 19th in the league standings as things stand.
A massive part of their success last season in the Championship included consistent performances from Mings, who was enjoying his loan spell from Bournemouth.
A good impression at Villa Park saw the Claret and Blue make a permanent move for Mings, who would agree to personal terms and complete a £20m move last summer.
23 starts in the Premier League this term have seen Mings gain recognition from Gareth Southgate’s England side, appearing in two UEFA Euro Qualifying matches last year.
Despite that recognition, it seems that some Villa fans have been less than impressed by the central defender’s performances, although some have been a little more kind to him.
Reacting to a tweet shared by @AVFC_News, who asked fans to give Mings a rating out of ten, fans gave an honest opinion…
What rating would you give Tyrone Mings out of 10 for this season, and why? #AVFC pic.twitter.com/4nZ6yQpo16

6. His casual nature on the ball cost us too many goals

5 sadly like so many of his team mates have not been good enough at premiership level

7.5/8 massive leader and presence but can’t say he’s been holding the defence together. Also making too many mistakes

5 for me. At least 3-4 mistakes a game, he recovers from 80% of them but good players don’t have to.

Great asset, good leader, make a great captain 10/10 love him

Solid 8, if it weren’t for him we would be rock bottom

6. I think he would admit he’s made more mistakes than he expects from himself. Still a leader on and off the pitch though. UTV

8/10 for the football, 11/10 for the great role model and person he is.
