Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Steve Bruce has some good plans in place to help their club return to the Premier League at the end of this season in the summer window.
Indeed, all dreams of an instant return to the top flight dissipated some time ago now and the Villans have had to contend with just making sure they finish in mid-table.
They look pretty good to do that now, too, and so their fans will be keen to see the summer window provide a base on which to build a promotion surge.
There has been talk of a new signing already, though, with Chris Samba training with the club but it appears – as quoted by The Birmingham Mail – Steve Bruce hasn’t decided over whether to take the defender on permanently.
The former Wigan man said:
“I’ve got to sit down with him and his representative and see but there’s been nothing decided just yet.”
It really is hard to say whether or not the powerful defender will have a more prolonged spell in the Midlands, then, though our local Villa punters aren’t too fussed either way.
He could prove to be decent but there is quite a big risk with him, too, and so they’re hoping their manager gets it right with this call.
