Aston Villa are set to receive some unwanted interest in one of their key figures this summer from a Premier League outfit.
According to a report by the Daily Record, Leicester City are believed to be keen on adding John McGinn to their ranks.
Brendan Rodgers is known to be an admirer of the former Hibernian midfielder and tried to bring him to Celtic before he completed a move to Villa Park last summer.
And, it is believed he will now try and bring the Scotland international to the King Power Stadium after a rather impressive debut campaign in the Championship.
The 24-year-old has managed to record seven assists and two goals in his 30 matches and has been an important member of Dean Smith’s side as they look to win promotion to the Premier League through the playoffs.
Aston Villa will look to try and resist any advances from Leicester for McGinn as he has become a fan favourite in the short time he has been at the club.
As mentioned, the 24-year-old has played an important role for the Midlands outfit so far and they will not want to see a player they have only had since the summer leave so quickly.
For Villa to be able to keep hold of him, they may have to be playing in the Premier League themselves next season and their 4-0 win against Derby County on Saturday will have helped their chances of achieving a playoff spot.
