Best summer business for Aston Villa would be to secure agreement with £2.7m-rated winger

Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t quite sure what to think right now, are their Premier League dreams fading away or can there still be light at the end of the tunnel?

It really has been the definition of a rollercoaster this season and right now, Aston Villa continue to face the uphill battle to return to the top flight. At times, Villa have looked a strong and viable candidate to fight in the Premier League but others, it’s not surprising to fans as to why they’re stuck in the Championship.

One thing is for sure though, their signings ahead of this season have most certainly renewed the optimism around Villa Park and one player they should try and hang on to whether or not they get promoted is Josh Onomah.

The talented playmaker has been on loan from Tottenham this campaign and has desperately impressed Steve Bruce and his staff, so much so they have admitted to be willing to pay whatever it takes to get him permanently. Although he is valued at just £2.70 million on Transfermarkt, Tottenham would have realised his recent performances could allow that transfer fee to grow.

The 20-year-old has made 31 appearances all-in-all this season and within that time added four goals and an assist. Although the statistics may not look great, Onomah is more the player who will get the ball down and spread the ball to the more dangerous attackers that Villa have.

Us fans gathered around the bar believe that Josh Onomah could have a really bright future and Aston Villa would be mad not to pursue his signature permanently.
