Aston Villa fans will be reasonably content with the current position of their club, with Steve Bruce’s men in the playoffs and just five points behind an automatic promotion spot.
Villa’s form has been hit and miss this term, with spells of wonderful results hampered by shock defeats and frustrating draws, and fans here in The Transfer Tavern are keen to see their side strengthen this month to ensure Premier League football returns to Villa Park next season. The rowdy bunch from Birmingham are always a welcome sight in The Tavern, with our landlord always keen to catch up with those who make the trip down the M1. Fans know their side could be hampered by Financial Fair Play restrictions this month, and loan deals are the most likely arrivals, with a number of names mentioned amidst the blarings from the nearby jukebox.
Plenty of talent is available, and our landlord suggested taking a look at out-of-favour Watford youngster, Jerome Sinclair. The Birmingham-born winger joined Liverpool in 2011 from the West Bromwich Albion academy, before a lack of opportunities at Anfield convinced the player to accept terms at Watford. However the 21-year-old has failed to break into the first-team on a regular basis at Vicarage Road, and just three substitute appearances in the league this season may be enough to convince the player and manager Marco Silva that a short-term move away from the club is viable. A pacy player with the ability to cut inside or attack the by-line, Sinclair could offer Bruce a different option in the second tier, and the player is sure to be available for next-to-nothing.
Sinclair needs an opportunity to prove himself, and a return to his hometown of Birmingham could be the spark that sees this exciting youngster’s career begin to take off.
