According to The Sun, Hull City are planning a move for Aston Villa’s Rudy Gestede whilst the Villans could look to use that as a device for getting Abel Hernandez to go the other way.
It’s an interesting set of potential events that has got both our Tigers and Villans fans talking here in the Transfer Tavern as both sides look for better fortunes that what they have had so far.
Hull started the season pretty strongly in the Premier League but have fallen away since to find themselves in the drop zone whilst Villa are beginning to pick up the pace after a worrying start to the campaign.
A lot of that is thanks to Steve Bruce’s arrival and now it appears he wants to go back to the club he left in the summer and sign Hernandez in January.
Indeed, the Humberside are reportedly tempted to use the forward as a make-weight to allow them to sign Gestede so we could be in for some serious activity between the two clubs when the transfer window opens in just over a month’s time.
The Tigers are currently 18th in the Premier League whilst Villa are 16th in the Championship.
