Aston Villa completed a move for Lovre Kalinic to bolster their goalkeeping options, however, it does not appear as Dean Smith is quite happy to relax his transfer business.
Although January has not arrived yet, the Villa Park outfit are starting early and looking to make inroads into their recruitment drive already.
A centre-back would appear to be an obvious one, as problems in the position have been well-documented for a long period of time.
However, a left-back is also thought to be next on Smith’s wishlist as he looks to bolster his backline and improve on their challenge of winning promotion back to the Premier League.
With a top quality goalkeeper added to the ranks, Smith is correct to address the need to bolster his backline at Aston Villa.
The Villans have leaked goals this season and will need to improve on the number that have been conceded if they are to keep their challenge of achieving promotion to the top-flight going for as long as possible.
As mentioned, the centre-back is clearly a position of need whilst helping to improve the left-back area will also only go and further improve their chances.
