The pressure is continuing to mount on Steve Bruce and his position at Aston Villa as results continue to be poor.
The Villans were held to a draw on Friday night against Bristol City, meaning they have won just one of their last nine matches in all competitions.
A number of names have been thrown around as speculation continues to grow, however, one man that is not expected to be at Villa Park is Dean Smith.
There is no real surprise that a manager of Smith’s quality has been linked, as he has successfully guided the Bees to a top six spot in the Championship so far and has seen his side enjoy themselves in front of goal with the likes of Ollie Watkins and Neal Maupay near the top of the charts.
Bruce’s time at Villa Park definitely looks as though it is coming to an end and appears to be just a matter of time.
Just because Smith’s name is not currently being considered, it does not mean the Villans are not looking elsewhere to replace him.
Links have been rife with the likes of Andrea Stramaccioni being touted, however, Bruce will not be too concerned and will look to get a win against Preston North End, who sit rock-bottom of the Championship, on Tuesday night.
