However, the Midlands club will be looking towards the January transfer window, with the opportunity to strengthen in key areas in preparation for a play-off push.
Indeed, the month of December will have a huge say on how Aston Villa’s season pans out as things could go one of two ways, with their promising league position at stake.
With that in mind, here is the dream December for the Villains…
TAMMY ABRAHAM CONTINUES TO FIRE
Tammy Abraham has been simply sensational for the Villains since joining on loan from Premier League side Chelsea back in the summer. He currently has 10 goals to his name this season, which includes the four goals that he scored against Nottingham Forest recently.
Aston Villa’s recent rise up the table can be put down to the Englishman’s efforts as he has been a level above his teammates.
So, with the month of December possibly deciding the Villains’ Championship fate, they’ll be relying on the forward to deliver the goods once again.
CLIMB INTO PLAY-OFF PLACES
Aston Villa were struggling in the bottom half of the table under the guidance of Steve Bruce, but things have soon changed since Dean Smith took charge at Villa Park.
Interestingly, the teams in the top-six have struggled to ensure consistency at times, apart from Norwich City, as the likes of Leeds, Sheffield United, West Brom, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough have all encountered problems.
The Villains are currently outside of the play-off places but are by no means out of the race, with a solid run of results in December helping them climb up the table and into a play-off place.
