Aston Villa are still in with a good chance of securing a play-off spot in the current campaign, despite not being at their best in recent times.
The Villains have relied heavily on Tammy Abraham to carry the main load up until this point in the current campaign, so Dean Smith will be looking for a couple of his other first-team members to step up this month.
Of course, the month of February could decide Aston Villa’s fate, with a strong run of results in the Championship helping bring their promotion hopes to life, but it won’t be easy as they face a number of strong sides.
Nevertheless, here is the dream February for Aston Villa…
RUIN WEST BROMWICH ALBION’S AUTOMATIC PROMOTION HOPES
On the 16th of February, the Villains will welcome Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion to Villa Park.
Of course, Aston Villa have their own promotion aspirations as they continue to chase down a play-off place, but ruining their rivals’ promotion hopes at the same time as boosting their own would be the perfect situation.
Indeed, victory in the Midlands derby would secure them three vital points, as well as filling them with massive amounts of confidence, so the 16th of February could contribute towards a perfect month.
Sadly, Jack Grealish limped off in the closing stages of Villa’s draw at local rivals West Brom at the beginning of December and has been missing since. But, Birmingham Live have reported that the home game against Sheffield United on February 8th is a likely return date for the Englishman.
The Villains have missed having his presence in midfield areas and in the final third, as they often struggle to create and the end product has gone missing at times.
So, the perfect situation would be for Grealish to return to proceedings and hit top form immediately, as he will play a crucial part in their push for a play-off place.
