Aston Villa continue to impress under Dean Smith as they go on in search of a play-off place in the current campaign, in an attempt to secure promotion to the Premier League.
The Villains will have their sights set on securing a couple of players in the January transfer window at this moment in time, with a number of areas requiring immediate improvement.
Of course, the month of January could decide Aston Villa’s fate as a combination of Championship fixtures and the January transfer window will have a huge say on how their season pans out, with a play-off place still up for grabs.
With that in mind, here is the dream January for Aston Villa…
CEMENT A PLAY-OFF PLACE
Aston Villa currently find themselves just outside of the play-off places, with a number of positive results this month helping them climb up and into the top-six.
The Villains were unable to make the most of their promising position in the play-offs last season as they ended up losing against Fulham in the final, so they’ll be focused on putting things right this time round.
Supporters will be desperate to see their side in the top-six as anything but a play-off spot would be seen as a disaster, having witnessed Villa’s rise under Dean Smith.
SIGN QUALITY CENTRAL DEFENDER
Aston Villa secured a number of quality signings back in the summer transfer window, who have helped Villa’s promotion push massively under Dean Smith.
Although, one area that needs improving immediately is at the heart of the defence as a replacement still hasn’t been found for John Terry, with James Bree having to fill in recently.
The Villains have been able to ensure solidity at the back in recent times, so securing a quality central defender would tighten things up and boost their chances of securing a play-off spot.
