Aston Villa haven’t done enough to warrant a play-off place in recent times as they continue to struggle with consistency, having failed to win any of their last five Championship games.
The Villans are still in with a chance of securing a play-off place in the current campaign but they’ll need to improve massively if they are to do so, with a number of tough fixtures coming up.
Interestingly, the month of March could decide Aston Villa’s fate as they’ll need to win almost all of their games to pile the pressure on the teams above them, as well as ensuring consistency.
So, with March being of huge importance, this is what Aston Villa’s dream month would look like…
JACK GREALISH MAKES HUGE IMPACT
Jack Grealish has been out on the sidelines since the start of December but he could now return (as per Birmingham Mail) within the next couple of weeks, which will come as a huge boost for supporters and the club.
Indeed, the Englishman is their go-to man when he’s fit as he has the ability to single-handedly win them games, which is exactly what they need in their pursuit of a play-off place. So, the perfect situation would be for the Englishman to return and have a huge impact on the field, as his goals and assists could take them places.
DEAN SMITH BRINGS PLAY-OFF HOPES TO LIFE
Aston Villa will face the likes of Derby County, Birmingham City, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers this month, so things certainly aren’t about to get any easier for Dean Smith.
It’s safe to say that this month could turn out to be a perfect one if Smith manages to secure points in all of his upcoming fixtures as four of the five teams are fighting for a play-off place, so Villa can gain some crucial ground.
