Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern will be concerned with things going on at the club recently but will be looking for the things on the pitch to be improved this summer.
The Villans are looking at losing the majority of the players following their failure to get promoted to the Premier League as they will need to comply with Financial Fair Play rules as well as concerns Dr Tony Xia could be prepared to sell the club.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of the club, reports are starting to circulate that they are still prepared to spend big on new transfer targets, with the Daily Record claiming John McGinn is high on their list.
The Hibernian midfielder has been attracting plenty of interest across both England and Scotland following his impressive performances, however, it is expected that he will cost in the region of £5million to lure him away from Easter Road.
Although there is a huge amount of uncertainty at Villa Park, the locals in the Tavern will be happy that they are looking at new targets to try and fill the gaps that will be inevitably left this summer when some of their starts will need to leave.
Jack Grealish is one of those players thought to leave and should the Villans get around the £30m they want for him, then Steve Bruce will certainly have enough to try and test Hibernian’s resolve over McGinn with an offer.
