Forest fans on Twitter look back at Villa Park cracker ahead of midweek clash

Tonight sees Aston Villa travel to The City Ground in the Championship, and loads of Nottingham Forest fans are bracing themselves for what could be a scorcher after the way the reverse fixture played out. The last clash between the two was a breathless 5-5, and as 8th play 9th, this game could be huge in the race for the playoffs.

Nottingham Forest fans have got a great kick out of watching the goals from that fateful midweek game against the Villains. One of the rarest things in football is scoring five goals away from home and not winning the game, yet it’s something that Aitor Karanka’s side managed. This time around Martin O’Neill is in charge so the chances are it will be different, but if they get another thriller the fans won’t be moaning.
If Forest do manage to shut out Villa, and more importantly Tammy Abraham, who bagged four goals in that 5-5 draw, and take all three points then they’ll go five points clear of the visitors. It would also see them keep pace on the top six and that’s something that the fans are desperate for, as a playoff place is still a real possibility for the Tricky Trees this season, especially seeing as they’re just two points away from 6th, the spot that the fans are absolutely dying to make their own.

Forest fans cannot wait for their clash with Villa and would all love to see a calmer clash that they come away from with three points as opposed to sharing the points from a ten-goal thriller.
