Henri Lansbury has suffered another injury setback at Aston Villa and could be set to spend the next month on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old has been plagued by injuries this season and Dean Smith has revealed that it appears to be like the one he picked up during their Second City Derby with Birmingham City.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Smith said: “Henri is still not training with us. He’s in the medical room at the moment. From the scan it looks like it’s the same injury he picked up against Birmingham City. So it will probably take four or five weeks like the first one.”
Lansbury has not had any luck this season and has only been able to make the one Championship appearance for the club, in which he picked up a hamstring injury.
The latest injury blow to Lansbury will come as a blow to him, Smith and Aston Villa as they head into the business end of the season.
The midfielder is very experienced in the Championship and may have been in a position to help the side to start climbing the table when it mattered.
However, with the player expected to miss around another month of action, when he does get to finally get back on the Villa Park pitch, it may be too little too late for Smith and his side.
