Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern will be hoping for a number of changes over the course of the summer, as they’ll be looking to assert their dominance next season.
Villa established themselves as automatic promotion contenders at one point but had to settle for a less satisfying play-off place. Although, they will now be looking to strengthen over the course of the summer transfer window by bringing in a number of quality additions, while offloading a handful of players that haven’t lived up to expectations.
Sadly, one player who may have to look for a new club this summer is Christopher Samba, who is currently valued at £900 k (by Transfermarkt). Indeed, the experienced central defender has been used as a last resort this season, as Steve Bruce continues to look at alternative options.
Therefore, if Samba never plays for Aston Villa again, it’ll be far too soon…
Christopher Samba hasn’t been able to play a big part in Villa’s season as John Terry and James Chester have formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the Villains’ defence. And, even when Terry suffered an injury towards the end of the regular season, Steve Bruce still opted to leave Samba out of the side as he played Mile Jedinak in his place.
So, it looks as if the Congo international is heavily out of favour at Villa Park and won’t play any further part in their future, as he may even think about retiring before the start of next season.
