Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern will be pleased with how their side performed this season, as they were able to ensure consistency and asserted their dominance.
Steve Bruce worked wonders at Villa Park this season as his Aston Villa side were automatic promotion contenders at one point. But, the Villa boss will be keen to improve next season, as the Midlands club did still have flaws in their game that need to be ironed out quickly.
So, the summer transfer window will be of huge importance to the Villains after signing a big-name player like John Terry last summer, as he was one of the standout performers this season at the heart of their defence.
However, Bruce will need to offload a couple of the club’s weak links before the start of next season, with dead weight in the first-team squad potentially harming their chances of enjoying a successful campaign.
With that in mind, if Tony Xia has any courage, he’ll make sure this Aston Villa man is sold…
The Republic of Ireland international was brought to the club back in 2017 as one of the deadliest strikers in the Championship, however, he hasn’t managed to find his feet since moving to Villa Park as the likes of Lewis Grabban and Jonathan Kodjia have pushed him down the pecking order.
And, with Villa always hungry to enjoy success and secure silverware, having the former Brentford man in their side won’t do them any good.
Therefore, with a permanent deal for Lewis Grabban surely being lined up at some point during the summer, perhaps Tony Xia will look to sell Scott Hogan in order to produce funds for the Bournemouth man.
