Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure all three points against Ipswich Town, as there’s still the possibility of automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Indeed, the Villains will travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town later on today in the Championship, after inflicting defeat on a struggling Leeds United side last time out. Sadly, Axel Tuanzebe and Alan Hutton continue to recover from an ankle and hamstring injury respectively, as a weakened Aston Villa defence is set to face up against a determined Ipswich attack.
Also, Icelandic midfielder Birkir Bjarnason will be monitored on his back problem ahead of kick-off later on today, after impressing recently with goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading.
So, it looks as if Steve Bruce faces a selection headache with a number of players still out injured, which could prove costly if a couple more first-team members join the casualty list from here on in.
