Dean Smith has certainly changed things around at Aston Villa in the short time that he has been there, including the atmosphere and the results on the pitch.
However, as he looks to take the side he supported as a child up the Championship table and in contention to challenge for a Premier League place, he has also had to deal with his fair share of injury concerns as well.
Jack Grealish and Neil Taylor are both thought to have become doubts for the Villa Park clash, with both picking up knocks against West Bromwich Albion on Friday night.
Taylor is thought to have a hamstring problem, whilst Grealish also had to leave the field before the game finished.
Smith will be hoping that both players will be able to return to the squad for the game against Stoke City at the weekend as the duo have been influential for the Villans.
With a number of players already on the sidelines, the Villa Park outfit will be anxious to see how the pair both progress throughout the week and will be glad that there is no midweek game to contend with.
Villa will know a win will edge them closer to the playoffs, however, Stoke are right behind them in the Championship table and will be looking to build on their own playoff ambitions.
