Aston Villa will be looking to improve on their start to their Championship campaign and one man feels that they have a great chance of doing so.
The midfielder, who has just signed a new deal to remain at Villa Park, feels that the club has the talent to be challenging for a Premier League place once again, although he did admit they would have to be a great team.
“We’ve got the best squad in the league, personally, on paper,” he told the YouTube channel.
“Every fan knows how good this team can be but it’s not just about the talent, you’ve got to be a team.
“There are teams in this league that maybe aren’t as good as others but they’re up there because of how they play as a team. I know we can do that, I see it every day in training.
“Hopefully we can kick on now with a few good results and be up there.”
The Villans have so far been struggling to make much of a push towards the promotion places, with Steve Bruce’s side having won just three of their opening nine matches.
Grealish has made a big claim about his Aston Villa team-mates and they will now need to deliver on it.
Bruce did add the likes of Tammy Abraham, Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi to their ranks this summer, however, the club have failed to make the impact that many felt they would have made.
The Villans will have the chance to show what they can do on Friday night when they travel to Bristol City for a match at Ashton Gate.
