Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are daring to dream about promotion in 2017 all of a sudden and are pleased to see the rejection of a bid for Jordan Amavi – confirmed by Dr. Tony Xia via his Twitter account.
The Villans here by the bar had been more concerned about finding themselves in League 1 under Roberto Di Matteo earlier this year but now, under Steve Bruce, they are feeling far more confident and happy.
Indeed, you can see why with the way the club are now playing and they certainly look like they could be one of those with the momentum heading towards the end of the year.
They’ll be looking to strengthen in January, of course, as well as keeping their best players within the club and it looks as though they’ll be doing just that with Amavi.
The young full back has impressed with his performances both this and last season and, despite a bid from an unnamed club, Villa are looking to keep hold of him as per Xia on Twitter:
