Kodjia and El Ghazi must start against Queens Park Rangers today - Aston Villa

Aston Villa haven’t been able to ensure consistency under Dean Smith just yet as they suffered a defeat last time out against Norwich City.

The Villains failed to make the most of a promising position against the Canaries last time out as they blew a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 at Carrow Road.

Interestingly, Aston Villa will travel to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers in their next Championship fixture. Steve McClaren’s side managed to secure a convincing 3-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday last time out, so the Villains will be up against it once again away from home.

So, Dean Smith must get his team selection right by selecting these TWO¬†Aston Villa stars…

Jonathan Kodjia

The forward has managed to produce two assists and has notched four goals in the current campaign, but he hasn’t been able to nail down a starting place under Dean Smith just yet.

Although, Tammy Abraham struggled for support at the pinnacle of the attack last time out against the Canaries, so the Englishman simply must bring the Ivory Coast international into the side to face QPR in order to pose more of a threat in the final third.

Anwar El Ghazi

Anwar El Ghazi hasn’t enjoyed the best of times at Villa Park since making the loan move from French side LOSC Lille as he continues to live life on the substitutes’ bench.

The Dutchman managed to secure a goal and an assist towards the start of the season, but he soon tumbled down the pecking order under Steve Bruce and he has found it difficult to enjoy regular minutes since then.

But, with Ahmed El Mohamady only offering an accomplished crossing ability down the right-hand side, perhaps Smith should opt for El Ghazi to provide more of an attacking threat.
