The Leeds United fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking the club with a move for a controversial defender.
According to a report in The Telegraph the Championship side are poised to make a move for Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott.
Lescott has a wealth of experience plying his trade with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton and Manchester City during his career.
But it will be last season that he will be most remembered for a number of controversial tweets made on his personal account as current employers Aston Villa were relegated from the Premier League without so much as a whimper.
Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo has told the 33-year-old that he can leave the club on a free transfer, as he looks to reduce the high wage bill at Villa Park.
Lescott became a target for the fans at Villa Park following him tweeting a picture of a Porsche near enough straight after a 6-0 home defeat to Liverpool, and they will not be sorry to see the defender leave the club this summer.
