Juventus are ready to offer a monster bid for Liverpool and England right-back Glen Johnson.
Tuttosport have reported that Juve are in dire need of a quality right-back and all indications point to a move for Johnson.
The Bianconeri general director, Guiseppe Marotta is expected to sanction some changes come January and adding to the back four is a priority.
Juventus may have some difficulty securing the Englishman’s services though and may face competition from Bayern Munich who are also said to be interested in the World Cup star.
The Turn club are favourites to land the unsettled right-back, but will have to offload some stars to raise the capital needed to work in the transfer market. Momo Sissoko is highly tipped to be the first out the door as he has struggled to make the cut under new coach, Luigi Del Neri.
Aston Villa are rumoured to be keeping tabs on the Malian defensive mid who impressed during his time at Liverpool. Furthermore, many Kop fans were sad to see Sissoko leave for Juventus and that may offer a road back to Merseyside in a player plus cash deal.
Liverpool signed Glen Johnson for £18.5million a year and a half ago and will be keen on recouping as much of that transfer fee as possible. That said, the England International has struggled with injuries at Anfield and has been criticised for his defensive qualities. Following a row with manager, Roy Hodgson, over his form earlier this season, Liverpool may consider letting the right-back go for as little as £15million.
