Aston Villa failed to secure a positive result in the Midlands derby recently as they were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park.
The Villains will need to pull off something pretty special if they are to stand any chance of securing a play-off spot in the current campaign, with the teams above them picking up points.
However, it appears as if one of the club’s youngsters has opted against a move away from Villa Park, as according to The Sunday People (via Birmingham Mail), Mungo Bridge has decided to stay at Villa.
Interestingly, Aston Villa have reportedly retain the services of Mungo Bridge after beating off AC Milan’s interest.
Indeed, the teenager has been rather impressive this season as he’s made the step up to the Premier League 2.
Gennaro Gattuso was reportedly willing to match whatever Villa offered by the way of a professional contract.
But, it’s now believed that the defender has opted to stay in the Midlands.
Mungo Bridge has plenty of potential and he’s already starting to impress in the Premier League 2 this season, so he’s definitely one to watch for the future at Villa Park.
Of course, the Villains will be delighted that they’ve managed to retain the 18-year-old’s services as he could play a big part in the future of the club.
