Aston Villa’s mini-revival continued over the course of the weekend as Steve Bruce’s men beat Bolton Wanderers, much to the delight of the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern.
Indeed, while their dreadful start threatened to ruin yet another campaign, life at Villa Park is looking up right now. Still, reports from Football Insider have proven rather worrisome.
Just as things were looking up, the publication claim starlet Keinan Davis has REJECTED the club’s new contract offer after his stunning start to life in the Championship. The 19-year-old forward has already bagged two goals in eight games for the Villains and has reportedly been tracked by the likes of Manchester United as a result.
Following his rise, Villa are understood to have offered him a new deal, though their initial offer is believed to have been rejected on his behalf. However, the club are said to be expected to return with a new offer for the talented teen in an attempt to stop him leaving in January.
After so many miserable times of late, the Villa fans in our bar certainly hope he signs on the dotted line ASAP.
It’s imperative Davis is tied down to a new deal. Whether or not keeping him in the long-term is a realistic aim or not, losing him so quickly would prove beyond gutting for Villa.
