Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern have not been too impressed with what they have seen from their team so far this campaign.
The men from Villa Park have had a decent looking summer in terms of signing players but so far that has not translated into results onto the pitch.
Indeed, the club has just the one point from their first two games – from a draw against Hull City on the opening day – and so there is plenty of hard work to be done.
Indeed, the club will be hoping to turn things around against Reading this week but if they don’t things really will start to get worrying at the club.
In the meantime, then, it appears as though Steve Bruce is willing to offer Ross McCormack an olive branch with him set to play for the U23’s tonight – as per the Birmingham Mail.
The pair fell out last season and it seemed as though the Scot would be out of the club this summer but that has not come to pass.
Indeed, we might just see him return to the senior side if he impresses this evening.
The start of an amazing reconciliation? Maybe. It looked as though it was a certainty that McCormack was going to leave this summer but with Villa struggling at the moment he could be an unlikely catalyst to improve things.
Let’s see how he does tonight.
