Promotion or not: Aston Villa must look to bring £13.5m-rated England man to Villa Park

The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern are still a little bit apprehensive, will they team be promoted this season or will they have to endure another Championship campaign?

That question right now is impossible to predict and with the race for automatic and the play-offs hotting up even more, Aston Villa are right in the thick of it. Whether they are promoted to the Premier League or not, Villa defiantly need some higher quality players within their ranks, having been let down by a lack of consistency in parts of the season.

Our Villa-mad punters have been thinking about who they would like to see at Villa Park and an ambitious name that keeps reoccurring is Tottenham’s Harry Winks, a player valued at £13.50 million on Transfermarkt. The 22-year-old put in some brilliant performances earlier on in the season, most impressively in Tottenham’s win against Real Madrid. Winks looked set to be a regular starter at Spurs for the foreseeable future after that but all his hard work was undone when he got injured and has been ever since January.

With that in mind, no one is sure of whether Winks will come straight back into the Tottenham side next season, following their highly anticipated move to their new ground. They will want some new stars to accommodate their quality ground and Harry Winks may find his position taken.

Therefore, our punters believe that Aston Villa should do all they can to at least bring Winks in on a loan deal, then he can show everyone what he is capable of at a top traditional English club.
