Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern will be disappointed with their defeat in the Championship Play-Off final to Fulham and will be expecting a number of changes this summer to ensure they go up in the automatic spots.
The Villans would have been confident that they could beat Fulham for a place in the Premier League, however, a Tom Cairney goal was enough to get the Londoners past them and take their place.
The locals in the bar have become frustrated with the way their team plays at times under Steve Bruce and have called for his departure and they could be about to get their wish if reports in Italy are to be trusted.
Tutto Mercato Web are claiming that Andrea Stramaccioni is on their shortlist of potential candidates to replace their current manager. The former Inter Milan boss is currently out of work after he was sacked by Sparta Prague last season and would certainly come in as a shock name.
Villa executives are understood to have considered Stramaccioni, as well as Brentford coach Dean Smith, should Bruce depart in his role.
The Villa fans in the Tavern will be surprised by the claims from the Italian media site that they are being linked with Stramaccioni.
The 42-year-old, who has managed in Greece, has experience of being at a top-profile club like Inter and Udinese, however, the locals will be concerned with whether he can handle the demands of the Championship, especially having been from his job in the Czech Republic.
The punters in the bar will be interested to see if anything comes out of the rumours, although not many will be holding their breath about them.
