Things appear to be going from bad to worse for Aston Villa and their search for a new manager.
The Villans sacked Steve Bruce last week after a poor run of form and have been linked with a number of high-profile names for the vacant role.
Thierry Henry was once thought to be the favourite to take up the hot seat at Villa Park, however, that now looks unlikely with it believed he could head to AS Monaco and take charge their instead.
The Midlands outfit were then strongly linked with a move for Rui Faria, with others being thrown into the mix as well, however, it now looks as though he will reject the chance to head to the Championship outfit as well.
It is being stated that the 43-year-old had been flatted to have been approached, however, it is thought that it is “still not the time” for him to take his first job as a manager.
Aston Villa just cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to bringing in and appointing the manager they want.
Firstly, there was the Henry saga, where he looked almost certain to have been employed in the role, now it appears the same has happened with Faria.
At least with the international break currently in session, they will have enough time to try and find someone they want to take the role, however, it must be disappointing to see a couple of big names already reject the chance to try and get them out of the Championship and back into the Premier League.
